BEST DEFENSE

I have always marveled at the Salvation History of the Church. Being able to see the timeline of the Patriarchs, the Prophets, Judges, Kings, the Exile, the return from exile and finally to the birth of Jesus our Lord, these make me realize even more the glory and splendor of the race of God's chosen people. Amen. Hallelujah!

Sirach 44:1, 9-13
...And for all time their progeny will endure, their glory will never be blotted out.

If we are faihtful to God then we can claim all the benefits of being God's chosen people. Amen. Hallelujah!

Psalms 149:1-2, 3-4, 5-6, 9
R: The Lord takes delight in his people.
...For the LORD loves his people, and he adorns the lowly with victory. Let the faithful exult in glory; let them sing for joy upon their couches; 6 let the high praises of God be in their throats. 9 This is the glory of all his faithful. Alleluia

Today's gospel tells us of the fate of the fig tree that failed to bear fruit. We are presented with challenges daily to live our lives, as we sink our roots into our foundation, bearing the fruits that we desire. We must not be naïve in thinking that we can always be protected. The best defense is the best offense. We have to make our move, a strong and faithful defense. We’ve got to be prepared. By understanding what is being presented to us, recognizing and being equipped in whatever form we are best able to do it. We are called to this world not out of this world with a heavenly perspective. This is a great challenge and with this we hope to rise as great men and women of God. Amen. Hallelujah!

Mark 11:11-26
...Early in the morning, as they were walking along, they saw the fig tree withered to its roots. 21 Peter remembered and said to him, “Rabbi, look! The fig tree that you cursed has withered.” 22 Jesus said to them in reply, “Have faith in God. 23 Amen, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it shall be done for him. 24 Therefore I tell you, all that you ask for in prayer, believe that you will receive it and it shall be yours.
