2 Timothy 3:10-17
10 You have followed my teaching, way of life, purpose, faith, patience, love, endurance, 11 persecutions, and sufferings, such as happened to me in Antioch, Iconium, and Lystra, persecutions that I endured. Yet from all these things the Lord delivered me. 12 In fact, all who want to live religiously in Christ Jesus will be persecuted....
We can't just take one passage and take it as a whole, we have to consider the entire scriptures. It must be read within the living tradition of the Church. It is written in the Church's heart in the very essence of who Jesus is. The analogy of faith and inner harmony should co-exist and take all of them together as a unity. To take just one part of the truth and depend solely on it for everything else to unravel would end up in heresy and find ourselves outside the truth. The depository of faith is entrusted by the apostles to the whole of the Magisterium of the Church. This task of giving an authentic teaching of the depository of the faith is given to the living successors of Peter who is the Pope and the Bishops in our Catholic Church. We must have the guidance of the Holy Spirit with the Magisterium of the Church. If the Church is not a Divine institution it would have crashed 2000 yrs ago. Living tradition and sacred scriptures are the means to transmit the faith. We need to know this to understand how God's plan works through things revealed by God to us and recalled by faith. Amen. Hallelujah!
Psalm 119:157, 160, 161, 165, 166, 168
R: O Lord, great peace have they who love your law.
Those who love your law have great peace, and for them there is no stumbling block. (R) 166 I wait for your salvation, O Lord, and your commands I fulfill. (R) 168 I keep your precepts and your decrees, for all my ways are before you.
Ignorance of the scriptures is ignorance of Christ. Woe to all of us who do not know sacred scriptures. We need to know the bible and know Jesus Christ. We all have this golden opportunity to widen our understanding of the scriptures not only based on what we read but in a broader perspective. Our attitude should be with gratitude in our hearts whenever we are able to listen to the generosity of speakers imparting their knowledge of the scriptures. We should thank God for every opportunity that not everybody gets to have everyday. Praise the Lord. Amen. Hallelujah!
Mark 12:35-37
35 As Jesus was teaching in the temple area he said, “How do the scribes claim that the Messiah is the son of David? 36 David himself, inspired by the holy Spirit, said: “The Lord said to my lord, ‘Sit at my right hand until I place your enemies under your feet.’ ” 37 David himself calls him ‘lord’; so how is he his son?” The great crowd heard this with delight.
