NOTHING IS TOO DIFFICULT

What happened to Tobit in today’s 1st reading was so unfortunate. Sometimes we tend to just go into despair over some matters in our lives that seem to be going nowhere or not getting any better. This is the case when we just look at the here and now but if we will read on further about the story of his life we will find that his situation turned around for the better. We must not lose hope and continue to call on the Lord in the midst of all the problems we have for God will surely make things beautiful for us in His perfect time. Amen. Hallelujah!

Tobit 2:9-14
On the night of Pentecost, after I had buried the dead, I Tobit, went into my courtyard wall. My face was uncovered because of the heat. 10 I did not know there were birds perched on the wall above me, till their warm droppings settled in my eyes, causing cataracts. I went to see some doctors for a cure, but the more they anointed my eyes with various salves, the worse the cataracts became, until I could see no more. For four years I was deprived of eyesight, and all my kinsmen were grieved at my condition…

No disappointment or discouragement should ever make us feel desperate if we truly believe that God has our best interests in mind. Amen. Hallelujah!

Psalms 112:1-2, 7-8, 9
R: The heart of the just one is firm, trusting in the Lord.
Blessed the man who fears the LORD, who greatly delights in his commands. 2 His posterity shall be mighty upon the earth; the upright generation shall be blessed. (R) 7 An evil report he shall not fear;

We live in a world where there are people who are just out to trap and catch our every move. There is nothing we can do about them but there is definitely something we can do about ourselves. We can follow Jesus' example who did not leave out a single thing undone but fulfilled what is right and expected of Him in the eyes of God and man. This may be very difficult at times but nothing is too difficult if we do everything in the light of giving glory to God. Amen. Hallelujah!

Mark 12:13-17
13 Some Pharisees and Herodians were sent to Jesus to ensnare him in his speech. 14 They came and said to him, “Teacher, we know that you are a truthful man and that you are not concerned with anyone’s opinion. You do not regard a person’s status but teach the way of God in accordance with the truth. Is it lawful to pay the census tax to Caesar or not? Should we pay or should we not pay?” 15 Knowing their hypocrisy he said to them, “Why are you testing me? Bring me a denarius to look at.” 16 They brought one to him and he said to them, “Whose image and inscription is this?” They replied to him, “Caesar’s.” 17 So Jesus said to them, “Repay to Caesar what belongs to Caesar and to God what belongs to God.” They were utterly amazed at him.
