This coming Saturday the MI (Militia Immaculata) ladies are going to meet for a special gathering for mothers sponsored by 2 generous sisters of the group. Everyone would take time out to be part of this exciting event which is always an opportunity to gather as a people of God in prayer but also an occasion for wholesome fun, joy and happiness.
Upon reading today's 1st reading it just struck me that I can compare this group to the early church in Jerusalem and the first Christians in Antioch. You know why? There is always a spirit of rejoicing and encouragement every time there is an MI Block Rosary gathering. It is like giving us a vivid picture of how the first Christians were during that time. Amen. Hallelujah!
Acts of the Apostles 11,19-26.
...The news about them reached the ears of the church in Jerusalem, and they sent Barnabas (to go) to Antioch.
When he arrived and saw the grace of God, he rejoiced and encouraged them all to remain faithful to the Lord in firmness of heart,
for he was a good man, filled with the holy Spirit and faith...For a whole year they met with the church and taught a large number of people, and it was in Antioch that the disciples were first called Christians...
It is just overwhelming whenever people meet as one family of God during occasions like these. It feels good to be always reminded of how each member of a community should commit and encourage one another as brothers and sisters in Christ. Amen. Hallelujah!
Psalms 87(86),1-3.4-5.6-7.
...The LORD loves the city founded on holy mountains,
Loves the gates of Zion more than any dwelling in Jacob.
Glorious things are said of you, O city of God!...
Sometimes we hear so many voices, not that we've become schizo... but because we do not concentrate or focus on which voice to listen to and end up distracted. Have you ever experienced getting two different opinions at the same time and feel at a loss. There's nothing to worry about for as long as we've become accustomed to God's voice then we will surely distinguish it from the nuisances. Especially when God's heart and your heart have become hearts beating as one. No one can snatch us away from God's strong and caring hands. If we are confident in this truth and really believe this then there is no more room for us to fret and be anxious for we are under His care, safe and secure. Amen. Hallelujah!
Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint John 10,22-30.
...My sheep hear my voice; I know them, and they follow me.
I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish...
