We can be assured in the midst of all the commotion going on around us where we are no longer sure who can be trusted or not that Jesus Christ is on our side. Today's 1st reading tells us that He accomplishes all things according to the intention of his will. It is a relief and consolation that it is not our will or someone else but God's perfect will. Thus we always pray, Thy will be done. We can completely trust His perfect will to work for our good. Amen. Hallelujah!
Ephesians 1:11-14
...In Christ we were also chosen, destined in accord with the purpose of the one who accomplishes all things according to the intention of his will, 12 so that we might exist for the praise of his glory, we who first hoped in Christ.
We should not give room to any doubt, fear, anxiety, impatience, irritability, hatred, sadness, iniquity, unfaithfulness, disloyalty, pride and loss of self control. Let us not choose to give in to these. They are all characteristics that should not be found in a people the Lord has chosen to be His own. Amen. Hallelujah!
Psalm 33:1-2, 4-5, 12-13
R: Blessed the people the Lord has chosen to be his own.
...For upright is the word of the LORD, and all his works are trustworthy. 5 He loves justice and right; of the kindness of the LORD the earth is full.
It is always a good feeling to hear someone say assuring words of sincere and genuine love and care especially if we are that person being spoken to. Today’s gospel is exactly that and Jesus is not just any person, He is God. Amen. Hallelujah!
Luke 12:1-7
...Are not five sparrows sold for two small coins? Yet not one of them has escaped the notice of God. 7 Even the hairs of your head have all been counted. Do not be afraid. You are worth more than many sparrows.”
